Bad Dürrheim, April 29th, 2012

Dear Members,

  as you can see from the above date, I’m presently not in Bremen. My employer offers me the chance to get out occasionally to recharge the batteries and I’m now in the last week of a 4-week “Kur” (which can be translated as a spa or re-hab, but without the complications of enforced drug or alcohol withdrawal . . .)

  Making the Chronicle under these conditions has been a challenge, especially a I’m used to a larger screen than my 13” MacBook, but I think I’ve managed to do a decent job and any necessary changes can be made once I get back to Bremen. To really enjoy the magazine, please download the pdf.

   I received a few articles from other members, forcing me to expand to 8 pages this month and I’m hoping that the trend can be kept up. Nicky’s idea especially leads me to hope that a few members take up the challenge to write something.

  So fire up your word processors and get writing!

  A big thank you to all those that participated in the AGM. It’s very important that the Club members actually use their right to influence how the English Club is run, even if it’s simply voting for a new committee.

    The new committee would like to thank Dagmar for her input over the last 12 months as a committee member and would like to welcome Fabian as the latest addition to the committee.

    A couple of articles have been written with regard to other happenings at the AGM and if you have any comments, please don’t hesitate to contact a committee member.
